I have been beekeeping since 2008 and never tire of this enthralling hobby.

Over time, I have developed my apiary and now have ten National hives plus Poly nuc’s, supported by two storage/working sheds. 

Having gained my basic BBKA certificate, I also studied for and passed, the BBKA microscopy exam followed by the General Husbandry Certificate.  I began a Queen breeding program, using an incubator. This has been moderately successful and I have been able to pass young mated Queens on to less fortunate beekeepers who had lost their queens.

I have been a member of our local branch of Quantock Beekeeping Association since 2008

(www.somersetbeekeepers.org.uk/quantock.html)   I found that, although there are plenty of equipment suppliers online, there seemed to be a gap for a local supplier, where goods could be obtained quickly and collected.

So Mike’s Bee Supplies was born. Customers can order there purchases, on my website and collect from my porch, from Mon – Sat, 9am – 7pm.
